Power Event Group LLC began as an event planning company in Buffalo, New York, over 25 years ago. As times changed and technology became more immersed into events, we started to focus more on how technology was integrated into events to ensure they were used to their fullest potential. After studying, researching, and even working for some of the leading companies at the time, we rebranded our first company, Event Elements, and in 2015 launched Power Event Group.
The main goal of Power Event Group was initially to fill a void that existed in the event industry between the technology companies and event planners. With technology evolving, changing, and expanding so quickly, event technologists were becoming a crucial new part of the event planning process. They were needed in order to ensure event and association technology was used properly, integrated smoothly, and created a positive attendee experience.
As we worked with more and more planners and associations, we quickly saw a new trend growing. Technology was improving quickly, but attendee expectations were also increasing, often at a quicker pace than the event technology itself. This inevitably began creating brand new situations that we lovingly call “Stump the Planner”. To solve these situations, new technologies were needed. But, as different technologies improved at different rates, single outdated pieces were replaced, and the unified technology plan that once smoothly connected all of the pieces together was split up. Over time, this strategy led to more and more complicated processes and integrations, as many of the new systems no longer worked well together.
We quickly realized that simply implementing the best mobile app was no longer enough. The void we were successfully filling was growing, changing into something more, and spreading throughout the entire event planning process. Backed by the skills and experience within Power Event Group, we knew we needed to refocus and once again embrace the entire event planning process - this time leading with technology.
