Jeannie is a dynamic player in the event industry, with over 25 years of meeting planning experience. She started her first company, Event Elements, in upstate New York in 2004. Since then, she has expanded and rebranded the company into Power Event Group, offering event solutions across the event planning process.
As technology took a more immersive role in the event planning process, Jeannie began to focus more on connecting the two fields to create new and improved event experiences. With both event planning and event technology expertise, Jeannie is able to see the connections and speak the language of both the technology partners and the event planner, bridging the gap between the two. Jeannie enjoys the challenge of creating a customized and engaging attendee experience by thoughtfully integrating event technology., while also using technology to create a smoother and more effective planning experience for the planners.
Jeannie earned her CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) from the Convention Industry Council in 2007. She also obtained her DES (Digital Event Strategist) certification from PCMA in 2016. She has over 10 years of experience in online event registration management using a variety of software systems. Jeannie also has extensive experience integrating mobile apps and gamification into meetings and event design. She is intrigued by the psychology behind integrating game thinking and mechanics into non-game contexts to solve real problems and achieve specific goals, and earned a Level 1 certification in Gamification Design in 2016.
Jeannie is a Past President of Meeting Professionals International - Virginia Chapter. She has spoken on event technology solutions at events such as CMP Conclave, Smart Meetings, HSMAI MEET National, Reston Herndon Meeting Planners and the Virginia, Tennessee, and Philadelphia Chapters of Meeting Professionals International.
In her spare time, Jeannie helps rescue dalmatians and find them forever homes. She has happily failed at this several times, and currently has three deaf dalmatians of her own at home. She also enjoys geocaching, which is real life gamification!

Josh Power, M. Ed., BME

Project Manager, Event Technologist, & Event Photographer
Josh has been called by some a modern "Renaissance Man.” His formal schooling began in music education and ended with a Masters in Educational Leadership. When it was time for a change after 12 years of teaching in the public school system, the concept of teaching, learning, and communication stayed strong with him. Josh used these skills to pivot into the beginnings of two separate companies, both looking to make a positive change in the event industry.
In 2010, he founded Josh Power Photography, a specialized corporate event photography studio, focusing on telling the amazing stories and capturing the special moments that event planners create every day with their events. Seeing events from this perspective has given Josh unique insights into the many different facets of events from both the planning and execution side.. This creative path also led smoothly into also studying and learning graphic design and video production,
In 2015, he joined Jeannie as they introduced Power Event Group to the event industry. focusing on bridging the technology gap. Josh has over 10 years of experience managing numerous event technology platforms, such as online registration builds, attendee management, and mobile event apps. He is certified in several different Cvent platforms, and has written articles for EventManager Blog (now Skift Meetings) dealing with wide-reaching event planning topics from integrating event technology to overcoming post-event depression.
Power Event Group has circled back to embrace the full event management process, and focuses on creating a connected and unified event planning process. While teaching, event photography, writing, graphic design, and event technology may seem completely different at first glance, they have each provided Josh with a wide range of complementary skills and knowledge. When combined, they have allowed him to successfully engage with events and people from a very unique perspective and skillset. At Power Event Group, his main goal is to solve problems and connect all of the moving pieces together to create a smooth, memorable, and high quality experience for attendees, as well as a profitable and enjoyable experience for clients and planners.
