PHOTOGRAPHY
WHY DOES an event technology company have a photography division?
We have the unique skills, knowledge, and experiences to see events from every angle. Before helping start Power Event Group, Josh Power was the owner and photographer of a specialized corporate event photography studio. He understood that corporate events have different and unique needs from other events, and a corporate event photographer needed to have a unique skill set to successfully tell their stories. Now entwined together with Power Event Group, the ideas and specialized story-telling of Josh Power Photography is still continuing to thrive. While it may seem like a stretch to include event photography into our services, and with it brings another unique perspective on events. In today’s fast-paced digital and social landscape, it is a perfect addition.
We do not shoot weddings, families, or graduation photos. We specialize in corporate event photography, because your needs are different. Quality digital photography is a must in today’s world, even for private, corporate events. Every event, even internal ones, needs sponsors and attendees. Not everyone can visualize the amazing event you tell them about, but if your event photos are special enough, they will be able to see the true story and get an actual feeling from your event.
Your event photography today, and how you use those images, plays a vital role in tomorrow’s events. While documenting your current event is important, the next one needs to be considered as well. As social media, brand awareness, and loyal followings are becoming more crucial in today’s technological and vision-driven world, you need to tell your story effectively to keep your event thriving for the upcoming generations. If you are not telling the story you want told, you are not creating the right messaging that your audience sees, feels, and becomes invested in. Great images tell great stories. What story are you telling?

WHAT STORY ARE YOU TELLING?
We’ve all heard “A picture is worth a thousand words.” But, did you know that while this phrase was used in numerous forms in the early 1900’s, it did not gain popularity in its current usage until the early 1920’s, with the phrase “One Look is Worth A Thousand Words”. Often attributed to Confucius, this was actually a US marketing slogan that was used to promote the benefits of having images in advertisements on the sides of streetcars! It was deceitfully given the attribution of a Chinese proverb so people would take it more seriously.
Fast forward over a hundred years, and advertisements and images are even more important. Our modern interpretation of “One Look is Worth A Thousand Words", and how it relates to events, is “What Story Are You Telling?”
